Product Details:
Soldanella Montana is a charming, low-growing perennial ideal for shaded areas. With a mature height of only 4-6 inches, it is perfect for rock gardens, woodland settings, or shaded borders. Its delicate blooms add elegance and beauty to cooler, shaded spots, thriving in moist, well-drained, and acidic soil.
Planting Instructions:
Seed Preparation: Soldanella Montana seeds do not require special preparation, but storing them in a cool, dry place before planting can improve germination rates.
Sowing: Sow seeds in early spring or late summer to early fall. Choose a shaded area with moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Scatter the seeds lightly over the soil surface and gently press them into the soil.
Germination: Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Germination usually takes 3-4 weeks but can vary depending on conditions. Maintain a temperature of 55-65°F (13-18°C) for best results.
Transplanting: Once seedlings have developed strong roots and are large enough to handle (usually after the last frost in spring), transplant them into their permanent location. Space plants about 6-8 inches apart to allow for proper spreading.
Care and Maintenance:
Water regularly, especially during dry spells, to keep the soil evenly moist. Apply a layer of mulch around the plants to help retain moisture and suppress weeds. Deadhead spent flowers to promote continuous blooming and prevent self-seeding.
