Shelf Life : Best planted within 1 year for maximum germination
Planting Instructions:
Seed Preparation:
Soak seeds in lukewarm water for 24 hours to enhance germination.
Sowing:
Sow seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last expected frost date. Fill seed trays or pots with a quality seed-starting mix. Sow seeds on the surface of the soil and cover lightly with a thin layer of vermiculite or fine soil. Water gently to ensure the soil is moist but not waterlogged.
Germination:
Place the trays or pots in a warm location with temperatures around 65-70°F (18-21°C). Keep the soil consistently moist. Germination should occur in 7-14 days.
Transplanting:
Once seedlings have developed two sets of true leaves and the danger of frost has passed, harden off the plants by gradually exposing them to outdoor conditions over a week. Transplant seedlings into the garden or larger containers, spacing them 6-12 inches apart.
Care and Maintenance:
Water regularly, ensuring the soil remains moist but not waterlogged. Mulch around the base of the plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming. Protect from pests such as aphids and caterpillars with appropriate organic or chemical treatments if necessary. In regions with harsh winters, mulch heavily or bring potted plants indoors to protect them from frost.
Happy gardening!
